This springtime bridal session with Paisley & Jade truly felt like a fairytale right in the heart of downtown Richmond….
Between the gorgeous, life giving florals, to the sweet romantic flow of the bridal gown, this romantic, springtime, bo-ho inspired bridal session was everything I could’ve dreamed of. Our venue, Focal Point Space, hosted the space for us with a wall full of floor to ceiling windows and a perfect blank canvas. Beautiful rentals- the Linden Settee, cow hide rug, and Austen rug – came from the queen of space fillers themselves, Paisley and Jade. The flower goddess behind these incredible arrangements were gifted by Katie from Yarrow Floral Co. who took my wondering imagination and turned it into a reality. She even included the most beautiful live moss I have ever seen to really bring the creation to life. I mean, seriously, how genius is that?! Hair and makeup provided by the ever so lovely Kelsea with Radiant Reflection who provide bridal HMU for brides in Richmond and all over Northern Virginia.
My favorite part about this shoot you may ask? Anna and Dylan. This beautiful couple had a perfect wedding day planned that they were dreaming of for forever. But of course, covid rolled through and canceled those plans for their big day. They had a lovely, small celebration with close family last summer, but had to postpone their big day plans for this coming summer. Anna wrote to me that this day meant so much to her and Dylan. The fact that they were able to have this special moment together after so many wedding plans had to be changed and canceled, she was so happy to be a part of this special day. My heart goes out to all of the covid affected brides that have been put through so much stress and to make things work. If anyone was to model for this shoot, I’m so glad it was Anna and Dylan.
I had been dreaming of a bridal session like this for what seemed like forever. I had never hosted a full on styled shoot before though, so I was hesitant to get started because I had no clue where to even start! The shoot was originally supposed to take place at the beginning of the year, but a few very important pieces fell through and I honestly felt like a failure. The self doubt hit as I was so embarrassed to admit to the other vendors of what was taking place and that we needed to reschedule. So, I took charge and control of every bit and tweaked the vision and a month later my dream became a reality. It ended up turning into something that was way more excited about and came out better than I could have dreamed. So, what did I learn from this? It’s okay to be scared, it’s okay to fail, but it’s never okay to give up. If I would have given up I would have ever had the opportunity to work with some incredible vendors and create something that I am SUPER proud of! Take the chance even if you aren’t sure what you are doing and grow from the hiccups.
I can’t thank the wonderful vendors involved in this shoot enough. What an amazing day with great people. Enjoy!!
