Miss Laken is hitting the blog today with her feminine, whimsical and urban senior session at Belle Isle in Richmond, VA. You have probably seen these photos everywhere on my website and socials, and for good reason! This sweet girl’s session has been one of my favorites. It is the perfect example of how getting in front of camera (even when you’re super nervous!) but not being afraid to put yourself out there and give it all you got, makes the biggest difference.

We started Laken’s senior session at Belle Isle in Richmond. If you’ve never been here before, Belle Isle is this cute little island in the James River that you can walk across a suspension bridge and get in the water, go for a walk, etc. It is so pretty! The second half of her session, we spent time at the Historic Tredegar, which just so happens to be right at the entrance of the bridge to Belle Isle! The perfect little set up for a senior session! Strong nature vibes AND urban all at one spot.

You probably wouldn’t believe me, but Laken showed up to her senior session at Belle Isle SO nervous! I gave her a big hug and promised her she would ease into it. Just as everyone does, after the first few minutes she was feeling herself!! And girlfriend KILLED! IT!!! We had so much fun getting creative with poses, and her gorg sassy face. Y’all I was screaming I was so excited!

Take this as your peace of mind that if you are feeling a little nervous before your session, it will all work out. The first few minutes of every. single. session. are always a little awkward. Even for myself! But, after you get into it, give it all you got! Don’t be scared to give a little model face, move around, do your own thing. I promise it will be something you LOVE if you break out of your comfort zone.

Laken, my queen, you are so incredible I could rave about you for days!! Soccer star, insanely smart and wise, and drop dead gorgeous. She is beauty and brains!! I can’t wait to see where you go next because I know you are going to take over the world one day!!
