We have made it to the party!! Our reception at The Granary at Valley Pike was so fun I want to have a party like it to celebrate everything. Being surrounded by all of your loved ones from both sides, all in the same room dining and dancing is truly the best feeling ever. I’m convinced there’s no better feeling.

We made our entrance while dancing to “Forever” by Chris Brown. It’s just such a good one to get everyone hype and excited hehe Followed that by going into our first dance. We chose the song, “I Guess I’m In Love” by Clinton Kane. We choreographed a few spins and lifts while dancing in our living room. It was the sweetest moment and made me feel like we were the only two people in the room. I, of course, cried the whole time. I also got to share a dance with my dad to “I Hope You Dance.” He used to play me this song when I was little, obviously we cried the whole time. Chip shared a dance with his mom to “My Wish” from Rascal Flatts.

My Maid of Honor, Julia, and Chip’s Best Man, David, shared some amazing toasts that I still think about to this day. I love you guys!!! We ate a yummy dinner from Shaffer’s Catering, cut our cake from The Icing Bakery, and got the party started. Alex, from The DC DJs did an incredible job! We told him we wanted a college party vibe, and well, that’s what he brought! It was soooo much fun dancing with all of my favorite people. My nephew, Jay, who is 4 years old danced the entire time!!! Absolutely tore up the dance floor and we have no idea where it came from! It was too good.

After a bit of dancing and a faux sparkler exit, I changed into my party dress! Free to move and spin and get down on the dance floor. Paired with my slippers of course too. At the end of the night, Chip and I shared a private last night with just the two of us in the room. It was beautiful, and top 5 memories of the day. Highy recommend having this moment at the end of the night to seal the day and enjoy one last moment together on your wedding day.
