Oh baby, you are in for a TREAT today with this one! Miss Samantha is on the blog today and I have been dying to get this one up!! This full glam senior session in Washington D.C. and Georgetown is one for the books. I’ve been looking forward to this sweet girl’s senior session since she joined the 2023 Senior Rep team!
Samantha is my girlie girl that goes full out for every single session!! I wouldn’t want it any other way! She has put so much thought into every single outfit, makeup look, and prop for our sessions as a team, so I knew it would be nothing less for her personal session. Thank you, Tiffany Winterton, for absolutely slayingggg her FULL GLAM look. We had been texting back and forth for months looking at outfits and shoes and accessories and picking the perfect fit for each location. We got it narrowed down to 5 differenet looks, and I couldn’t be more in love with how this session turned out!
You would never know this just by looking at the pictures, but our session did not go as planned. I-95 traffic can be unpredictable, and this day, it was NOT in our favor. Our session started over an hour later than we planned, thankfully, I had scheduled in a little extra time for travel outfit changes, but we were still on a race against the sunset.
We started out in her KILLER prom dress at the D.C. War Memorial on the National Mall. Thing number 3 that didn’t go to plan, a rip in the dress…. I know, talk about a bummer. With a little touch of PhotoShop, I was able to fix it for her photos, but sadly, PhotoShop doesn’t work in real life. So she obviously had to get that touched up before prom in just 2 weeks! We then changed into her ROLL RIDE, BAMA BOUND outfit and y’all… I have no words. I’m just obsessed with it and you’ll see why in a second!
Then, we quickly changed into her white jeans and blue top outfit. One of my favorite looks from this shoot! The bright blue with the glowy green leaves and sun shining through made for the most beautiful images I’ve ever taken!
Photographers: One thing to take away from this is is the importance of having a posing workflow, being able to see great light, and staying calm in the midst of major stress. Yes, I was stressed too! I wanted killer images for this girl who majorly deserved it, and I knew how much these meant to her. I was able to be fast on my feet, run her through amazing poses and keep some peace in the situation. Without that, we would not have images like these!
After our Washington D.C. location, we took this full glam senior session over to Georgetown! How fun is this hot pink deli shop?! You would have never known, right?! Here’s where timing worked out a little in our favor. If we would have been 30 minutes earlier, the sun would have been hitting the building straight on, aka not ideal lighting, and we would have had to switch up the plan a little bit. Samantha’s last outfit was one that I actually had on my Senior Style Inspo Pinterest board!! And it did not disappoint!!! So cute, so fun, and photographed so stinking beautifully.
If you’re a photographer, you might be able to notice that the sun was practically gone by the time we started photographing her last outfit. So, we found the most open spot we could towards the sky, a light colored house behind her, and made it work! And the ones in the middle of the street? Oh, I die. SO CUTE!
Samantha, can’t wait to see you off at ALABAMA in the fall!!! I will absolutely be living vicariously through you during #bamarush !! Have the best time ever. I know you are going to do absolutely incredible things!! Your full glam senior session in Washington D.C. and Georgetown is my new favorite!
