Spring Wedding at Thatch Winery | Charlottesville, VA | Maggie + Denzel

Maggie and Denzel’s wedding day at Thatch Winery in Charlottesville, VA was everything a beautiful spring wedding day should be. Beautiful blue skies, seventy-five degree temps, excited and joyful friends and family and the happiest bride of them all! Maggie is just the sweetest bride, also the funniest. Denzel has such an evident love for his bride. The whole day just felt – complete. These two were meant to enjoy their big day last spring, but the pandemic had other plans.

Maggie shared a sweet daddy daughter first look that absolutely had us in tears. Maggie and her dad share very similar personalities and are both just so fun and hilarious, so it was so sweet to take in this moment of seeing his baby girl in her wedding dress for the first time. When it came time for the first look with Denzel, we knew it was going to be so sweet since they had waited so so long for this moment. (It may have looked like a beautiful day outside, but, it was intense wind – that didn’t stop anyone from an enjoying the views and outdoor scenery at Thatch Winery.) Through the wind, they had a quiet and intimate moment that both were so surprised when seeing each other.

The ceremony, beautiful. The vows, emotional. Maggie’s family is Irish, so the decided to take part in the tradition of tying the hands together. Her sister, Allison, had the honor of doing this for them and the smiles shared between the two were so sweet. The rest of the day was spent dancing and enjoying their time with their friends and family. The whole day was laidback, but such a joy to be a part of this day for this amazing family.
