Sunrise Session in Old Town Alexandria | Couples Session | Cooper + Sierra

Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons to shoot in! Especially when it’s a sunrise session in Old Town Alexandria and specifically with Cooper and Sierra! These two were just an absolute dream to work with. First off, just look at them. Have you ever seen a more beautiful couple?! Secondly, they are too much fun. We laughed and joked through the whole session and just had a great time together.

The thing about morning sessions on the river is that there is fog, and lots of it!! It was very thick on this morning and looked like we were literally standing in a white room, so we decided to wait it out for a bit before heading over towards the water to start. We met at a Starbucks so ordered some coffee and sat down and got to know each other better. Sierra is a high school counselor in the DC area and Cooper, well he loves football! haha I love asking my couples how they met and what their love story is, and these two have a pretty fun one. Cooper was at his cousin’s house party and when he walked in, there she was. Dancing on a chair in all her glory. Cooper had just transferred to their college and she was the first girl he talked to. They recently got married a few months ago and have a dog-child named Phoebe who they love much.

Once the fog cleared a little, we made our way over to the pier and found some pretty colorful flowers to make up for the lacking sunrise. These first few are some of my favs! I just love how her dress and the flowers pop against the white sky and surroundings. We still made some magic even in the midst of a cloud. We even went out to the end of the pier where we were able to capture some really cool shots of just them and the water. From there we headed back to Starbs and changed clothes and made our way to the neighborhood to capture what we could of the fall scene. Their outfits for these were so perfect as well! The cardigan, the coordinating colors, loved it! My favorites of these however were taken in this little side alley that has beautiful trees hanging over and a little brick path. The sun was shining so beautifully through the leaves and gave the most gorgeous glow to end our session with!

Cooper and Sierra, y’all are amazing and your sunrise session in Old Town Alexandria is one for the books! I hope you love these photos just as much as I do!! Enjoy!
