Kortnie’s floral moment at Maymont and the Tuscan House on Monument Avenue was a dream come true! The flowers really said, “we are out to play today”, which isn’t always the case in the spring! I couldn’t believe how gorgEOus of a day we had for Kortnie’s senior session and just how beautiful all the photos turned out!! Kortnie and her mom traveled all the way down to Richmond from Stafford for her session, and whenever someone is willing to make a drive for me, it just makes it all the more special! Thank you Kortnie for trusting me to take your senior pictures!

Kortnie really wanted to capture lots of pretty spring florals and garden vibes, but she ALSO wanted to get some portraits at a location with really gorgeous architecture. I love it when my seniors want a combination of different locations! It adds so much variety to their final gallery and gives them lots of options for different prints and products. Plus, it just adds such a nice flow to the session! So, we did just that and hit two of my favorite locations in downtown Richmond! We start by walking around Maymont in the Italian Garden and then hiked down to the Japanese Garden where we found this angelic wall of bright pink/red flowers!! I couldn’t get enough of it! We took a few cap & gown photos before driving over to Monument Avenue to take some photos at the Tuscan House. It’s the most gorgeous on the street!! I can’t wait for you to scroll through these because they are some of my favorites!

When I shared her sneak peek that night on Instagram, her mom commented saying, “Thank you Kelsey for an amazing photo shoot today! Kortnie looks so beautiful. You’re a naturally talented photographer!” Just made my heart melt as she was a little worried about that whole thing. As photographers, it’s our job to make our clients feel comfortable and confident, and I’m so happy I did just that for both of them.
