Kara and Duncan… oh how I just adore y’all!! Their Richmond engagement session at Maymont was a dream and I feel like I have two new best friends!! Which is always the goal! These two have been together throughout all of their college years and have spent their entire relationship long distance. Kara at JMU (go Dukes!!) and Duncan in Oregon. However, the love these two share is something unbreakable.

The first time I met Kara was on our wedding inquiry call together. I literally felt like I was talking to an old friend the entire call together. After we ended, I remember texting Chip and saying, “I just had a call with my DREAM bride and if she doesn’t book I will be so heartbroken!!” Haha!! I learned later on that she felt the same, so obviously it was meant to be!! Duncan is also a photographer, but in the world of sports, which definitely is a whole other ball game to weddings! He is so talented and of course we geeked out about camera equipment and all the things during our shoot together.

We met at Maymont Park here in Richmond. Maymont is one of my favorite places, ever, to bring my clients for their sessions! There are just so many beautiful little corners and lots of variety all at one location. It’s dream. We explore around the park until they closed, then headed to another nearby park area for outfit number 2. We literally took pictures until the sun was gone and it felt like time flew by!
