Being a creative, I love mixing things up and trying new things. Over the winter, I went through a little bit of funk and really wanted to switch up my photography style in the way I edit and take portraits. So, I went on a mission to photograph some different passion shoots to get a feel for it and see how things go. I set up this Harrisonburg engagement session styled shoot, put out a model call, and found thankfully found these two James Madison University lovebirds. My inspiration for the shoot came from one photo I saw on Pinterest (of course) of a couple having a pizza date in their car. I hit up Benny Sorrentino’s, borrowed my roommate’s longboard, and off to the top of the parking deck we went!
Y’all, it was so cold and windy outside, I mean, we were in the middle of February, but thankfully this day was actually sunny and more bearable than previous days full of snow and ice. I am so thankful for Sam and Andrew for taking on this vision of mine to try something new. While I may not have decided to stick with this editing style (darker, a bit moodier, and a lot more golden) it made me realize what I do really love, and that’s lighter, more natural and colorful edits that make my couples shine. No, this is not an accurate representation of my current work, but I am so proud of this shoot and the way it turned out as a fun, and different type of engagement session! IT’S SO FUN and I really just love it so much.
Enjoy!!
