Just a little fireside sweetheart session coming at you. Sam and Brooke are some of the sweetest people I have photographed. Their love for one another was so evident during their shoot, and I can’t wait for you to read a little bit of their love story written by Sam himself. Alright, let’s get straight to the point here…
SAM – “We met in North Carolina in 2015. We fell for each other HARD, but our lives were moving in opposite directions so we decided to stay in touch but break it off romantically. I truly thought that that would be the end of it, but we managed to stay in touch for the next two years, until we reconnected in Ohio.”
“Our first first date was at my house in NC after we had been talking online for about a month. We both were leading really busy lives at that point, between working full time and going to school, and finally had had enough of not finding the time to meet up. So one day Brooke text me and said. “HEY. I want to see you, how about I just bring my books over and we study together?” Naturally I said hell yes haha and agreed to make us dinner. At the end of the night I walked her outside to her car and kissed her under the streetlamp. Our second first date was in Ohio, I was getting ready to deploy, and we each drove all day to meet in the middle and spend the weekend together. I don’t think either of us expected it to go the way that it did, but the second I laid eyes on her the world stopped turning and I knew that I was never going to feel complete without her in my life.”
“We had decided to elope, but I hadn’t found the perfect ring yet. About 3 weeks out, I had finally found THE stone and had the ring made, and headed into Nashville with my baby for the night to go for a walk on the bridge overlooking the water. I’d like to say that I planned everything out, but really I was just winging it. When we were about halfway across the bridge, we passed a couple of people and I asked them if they could take our picture for us. Brooke smiled for the picture, and I knelt down and asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. We spent the rest of the night out on the town celebrating. We were then married on March 3, 2018!”
SAM – “Brooke is my best friend, and tough as nails. Life hasn’t always been easy but loving her has. I spent my entire life feeling alone, and since we’ve been together I haven’t had to feel that way for a single day. I love how honest, carrying and real she is. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s the single most beautiful person that I’ve ever met.”
BROOKE – “It’s hard to pick just one favorite thing about Sam, but I think he has the best character of anyone I’ve ever met. He is so genuine, caring, loving and kind. Not only to me, but to everyone we come across. My life is so enriched with him in it and he truly is my better half. After 4 years together it still feels like the honeymoon phase.”
