Cal + Rachael, the sweetest high school sweethearts I ever did meet. These two lovebirds have known each other almost their entire lives and have been dating for over 6.5 years. Their first date was spent at the movies talking throughout the entire thing and just having a great time in each other’s company. When we met for their session, I could just tell that they are seriously just the best of friends and have so much fun together!! And their pup Nugs… don’t even get me started! SO adorable!

Proposal story told by Rachael:

“Cal actually bought my ring the day of our proposal. He told me he was going to Fredericksburg with his grandma and I had to go home to my mom’s. We had made plans with both of our families to have a cookout at Cal’s grandma’s house on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend (our six year anniversary was that Monday). After everyone was there, Cal and I had walked outside and his grandma, both of our moms, and Cal’s sister were all holding up their phones and I had no idea what was going on. I remember thinking to myself,  “what in the world is so special on the river right now that they all want a picture of?” 

Then Cal’s grandma told me she wanted a picture of the two of us, so I turned around to find Cal down on his knee. At that point, I still had no idea what was happening! I didn’t realize it was actually happening until I saw the ring box in Cal’s hand. As soon as I put it all together, I screamed “No it’s not!” because I genuinely couldn’t believe it was happening (but now the running joke is that I said no lol). Of course I said yes and cried for what felt like forever because I was so incredibly happy.”

Rachael- “My favorite thing about Cal is how he always makes me feel so at home. I’ve always told him that home isn’t a place, but the feeling you get when your around your people. Regardless of how I’m feeling, he always reminds me of how much I’m loved, can always make me smile, and forever makes me feel at home.”
